You are invited to join an online conversations about the Psalms on the first and third Thursdays each month at 7 PM Eastern time for . With everyone socially isolated during COVID-19, it can be nice to spend an hour or two with fellow disciples discussing the Scriptures.

Time: First and Third Thursdays Monthly, 7pm EDT (6:45 for meet & greet)
Format: First hour is an organized study of the selected text. Second hour, for any who wish to hang around, is a free-form discussion of topics touched on but not fully dealt with during the class, as well as an open discussion of other topics on people's minds.

- Zoom is a platform where you can participate by video, audio, text chat, or feel free to just listen. The screen will have little squares with participants’ faces, sort of Brady Bunch style.
- All you do is click the link above when you are ready to join. No downloads required.
- If you have a microphone and/or video camera on your computer or laptop, that would be ideal, but not required.
- You can join by smart phone as well (I recommend downloading the “Zoom Cloud Meeting” app if you join by phone or tablet.)
- Helpful to arrive early if it is your first time to test your mic and camera.

OTHER Online Bible Classes
While most churches are not meeting for Bible study, a virtual Bible class may be an appreciated alternative. I started putting together a list of ones I learned about (see below) but then I found out about a Facebook group that does the same thing. It's called Church, Unsleeping. It has way more options than are listed here. Check it out.

Recommended bible study websites
International Standard Bible Encyclopedia. This classic four-volume encyclopedia appears to be out of print. It purports to explain "every significant word in the Bible and Apocrypha and gives detailed information on the language and literature of Bible lands, and the historical and religious environments of the people of the Bible in articles by nearly 200 scholars." You can buy it used at AbeBooks.com for $175. Or you can access the contents free from the ISBE website. Fantastic resource.
BibleGateway. This is the only site I use for viewing the scriptures online. You can read any version imaginable. It's an excellent concordance and you can compare any number of versions side-by-side. It is often quicker than looking up scriptures in my physical Bible. Its search function is quite good. Just put in the scripture with any range of verses or put in the word(s) you want to find the verses for. [I don't use the app because functionality is limited (or I just can't figure it out). On a tablet, I recommend the website; on a phone, the app would probable be preferable.]
Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society (JETS) Archive. Volumes 1–60 (1958–2017) available for free in PDF form from the Evangelical Theological Society website. This is a highly regarded academic-level journal focusing on scriptural studies. The only problem is you must be a member ($50/year) in order to access the search platform. Still, browsing the tables of contents could be a useful treasure hunt for those interested in serious Bible study.
